Privacy
The app
The app collects no data. Your habits, check marks and settings stay on your iPhone. There’s no account, no ads, no tracking, and the app sends nothing to us or anyone else. Only if you write to us through “Send feedback” does an email go out, and only once you tap Send yourself.
You choose which apps to lock through Apple’s Screen Time. Your iPhone manages that choice. The app itself can’t see which apps you picked or how you use them.
Delete the app and everything is gone.
You get the app from Apple’s App Store. What Apple processes along the way, for example when you download, rate or share it, is covered by Apple’s own privacy policy.
This website
This website is hosted by Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., San Francisco, USA). When you visit it, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data such as your IP address, the page you open, the time and your browser. That’s the only way the site can reach you and be protected from attacks. This is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Without this data you can’t open the site.
Cloudflare does this on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). The data may be transferred to the USA. This is covered by the European Commission’s adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under which Cloudflare is certified, plus the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Cloudflare keeps this data only as long as needed to deliver and protect the site.
The site sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads no fonts or scripts from other servers.
If you email us
If you write to info@habitthenphone.com, we get your email address, your name if it’s in the email, and what you write. If you write from the app through “Send feedback”, the email also includes the app version, iOS version and device model at the bottom. You can delete them before sending. We only use this to reply and to handle your request or bug report. This is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
The email goes through Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA), which forwards it to a Google mailbox (Gmail). Both may process it in the USA, and both are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We delete the email once your request is handled, at the latest after 12 months.
Your rights
You can ask at any time what data we hold about you, have wrong data corrected and have data deleted. You can ask us to restrict processing and to get your data in a common format. You can object at any time to processing based on our legitimate interest. And you can complain to a data protection authority. For us that’s the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia. Just send an email to the address above.
